Make the Most of Your Child’s Early Years

J-PAT is a parent education and family support program serving Jewish families with children from birth to age three. It is based on the national Parents as Teachers (PAT) research-based model, which was created to assist parents with support and information about their developing child and to foster nurturing, loving relationships between parents and their children.

J-PAT will provide three home visits from a certified parent educator, who provides information about child development, parenting practices and community resources. Each visit will also include screenings for potential developmental or health issues, along with a Jewish component such as holiday traditions or cultural heritage.

By understanding what to expect during each developmental phase, parents can help enhance their children’s physical and emotional learning and growth.

Jewish Parents As Teachers is made possible, in part, by an Incubator Grant from the Union for Reform Judaism and by a grant from the generosity of the Gladys K. Crown Foundation honoring the memory of Shirlee Green and the Jewish Federation’s Rich Fund.
