JPAT Launches Speaker Series on Oct 29, 2014

October 13, 2014
  • Renee Wasserman, founder of SleepyHead Solutions, will kick-off a four-part speaker series for parents of young children presented by the Jewish Parents as Teachers program (JPAT), on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Wasserman will present “Sleeping 101: Foundation for Healthy Sleeping Habits.”

Wasserman is a Family Sleep Institute certified infant and child sleep consultant. She empowers parents to teach their children to become healthy sleepers. Wasserman has a master’s degree in public health and is a physical therapist with more than 15 years of experience. Her interest in addressing children’s sleep issues evolved from her own experiences parenting three daughters, ages 6, 8 and 9. Wasserman also serves as a volunteer ambassador for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Safe to Sleep campaign, which educates parents, caregivers and health care providers about ways to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

The JPAT Speaker Series has been made possible, in part, by a grant from the Kranzberg Family Foundation, by generous community donors and by Congregation Temple Israel. JPAT is a certified provider of the Parents as Teachers program. It provides families with children ages birth-5 with three home visits annually by a certified parent educator, developmental screenings and information and resources on child development. These services are all provided within a Jewish context. JPAT serves families of all Jewish backgrounds and is open to the entire St. Louis Jewish community.
